While mostly true, it isn't exclusively true. Many Windows links open in Edge, no matter your default browser. MSEdgeRedirect is one app created to override that behavior.Edge for Android also recently replaced the default search bar with a "copilot" bar, much to my dismay.
Now to find another Android browser that allows installing Chrome extensions...
Just use firefox. It has even better addons.
In my work profile I don't have a choice but to use edge though because our company glorifies Microsoft :(
