100%. I suppose I understand MCP for user-side tooling but people seem to be reinventing the wheel because they don't understand REST. making REST requests with a well defined schema from an LLM is not all that hard.

Not yet tbh. I would realistically expect at least a year or more before you can expect any kind of parity with eg; pyright/basedpyright. Type checkers are hard and have a long tail of functionality that must be implemented.

Even ads have risk. Customer service has risk. The widespread proliferation of this stuff is a legal minefield waiting to be stepped on.
