I just rewatches deadwood and i read your comment in the voice of al swearengen. I also tossed in a few "hooplehead" references for good measure.

I keep hearing people claiming that water is just as much as issue as energy for operating these DCs, but that just doesn't make any sense to me. However, I haven't had to step inside a DC for almost two decades.

I think the pressure on SaaS margins won't be from customers vibing their way to Figma or DataDog but because gen AI will bring a lot more credible competition in many segments. DD and Figma are probably awful examples because those companies are constantly pushing the envelope, but there are a lot of rent seeking SaaS providers that are going to be in for a rude awaking.

I have no doubt that we can create a really miraculous future. I am just increasingly pessimistic about our collective desire to do so.
